Growing J&A Exterior
After high school, I realized this wasn’t just a seasonal gig. We expanded our services to include gutter cleaning, repairs, guards, and installations. Investing in our first gutter machine and trailer setup allowed us to offer seamless gutter solutions and provide better service to our customers. Balancing business and college wasn’t easy, and after a short time, I made the decision to return home and go all-in on growing J&A Exterior.
Today, I’m proud to say that we are licensed builders with the state, ensuring our work meets the highest standards. Our focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction has driven our growth and success in the industry.
Building Our Team
It has been a hard fought journey to get to where we are and now, our team has grown to nearly 20 skilled professionals, including managers, estimators, and office staff. I prioritize running a strong, welcoming, and caring team. I believe in creating an environment where we support each other, both inside and outside of work, fostering a family-like culture. At J&A Exterior, we’re more than just coworkers—we’re a family that looks out for one another. Each team member plays a vital role in our success, and we take pride in offering top-quality gutter solutions and exceptional customer service.

Humble Beginnings
I’m Jacob, the owner of J&A Exterior. My journey started with a simple idea and a lot of determination. At 16, my passion for installing holiday lights quickly turned into something more. While working on roofs, customers started asking about gutter cleaning services, and that’s when the vision expanded. The following year, I took things seriously—growing our holiday light accounts and diving into more gutter services. What started as a side hustle soon became the foundation of a full-time business.
My Passion for Business and Construction
I’ve always had a passion for business and construction. Growing up, I spent countless days on job sites with my dad, a general contractor, who taught me everything there is to know about building, tools, and craftsmanship. This early exposure laid the groundwork for my entrepreneurial journey. My first business memory was selling dried glue designs and sculptures. By 13, I had started my own shoe and clothing brand, and over the years, I pursued various entrepreneurial ventures, including selling fidget spinners and toys both online and in person, running e-commerce websites for tech products, reselling couches and even wholesaling homes across the U.S. I’ve always loved the challenge of turning ideas into reality and finding new ways to provide value to others.
